Cyrus Osena

Lead Instructor

Cyrus Osena is the owner and lead instructor of Spartan Krav Maga in Burlington. Before opening the school, he spent 20 as a Capital Markets executive on Bay Street, which showed him how stress affects decisions and why steady training builds composure on and off the mats.

He specializes in Krav Maga and Kapap and has trained and taught in Israel, Poland, the UK, the United States and Canada, learning from the likes of Gabi Noah and Amit Himelstein. He has worked with civilians, military personnel, law enforcement and security professionals, and brings that experience to classes anyone can join. 

​

Cyrus teaches self-defense as a complete system: awareness first, avoidance second, and decisive action only when there is no other option. He believes personal safety is a responsibility, not a service, so every class builds skills students can use on their own.

​

As a father of two, he is committed to teaching women, teens and kids. He leads school programs across Halton and the Golden Horseshoe, courses for women and young people, and corporate workshops on personal safety.

Since 2019, Cyrus has been recognized in the Burlington Post Readers' Choice Awards with top honours for Best Personal Trainer, Best Fitness Instructor/Trainer and Best Martial Arts Instructor.

Away from the gym, he's an outdoorsman and fly-fisher, usually waist-deep in a river when he's not on the mats.
